Two Year Olds

Main Curriculum Source: The Complete Resource Book for Toddlers and Twos by Pam Schiller This resource book is filled with experiences that target the important areas of development for twos. Each topic is divided into activities and experiences that support: Language Enrichment Cognitive Development Social-Emotional Development Physical Development The curriculum is also supported with Healthy Beginnings: Supporting Development and Learning from Birth through Three Years of Age, (www.marylandhealthybeginnings.org). These developmental guidelines are used as a resource to support and encourage children during the ongoing process of growth and learn- ing. The guidelines were originally compiled in 2004, to be compatible with the Maryland Model for School Readiness and the Maryland State Curriculum. the guidelines met the expectations of the No Child Left Be- hind Act, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and the National Association of Early Childhood Specialists in State Departments of Educations. The Guidelines were updated in 2007. The guide- lines are divided into the topics of: Personal and Social Development Language Enrichment Cognitive Development Physical Development​

Three Tear Olds

TLC uses Robert-Leslie Publishing’s Just for Threes Curriculum. This full-year Standards-based integrated curriculum is recommended by the State of Maryland. Children develop important readiness skills in literacy, oral language, printing, math, social studies, science, health, social and emotional,phonological awareness, and alphabet knowledge. To develop a knowledge of God’s word and our Christian faith, the children will be hearing the Bible read in sequence from the Toddler’s Bible by V. Gilbert Beers. Teachers also supplement the Just for Threes Curriculum with the language development resources from A Beka Christian Publishers. The math program is designed using Maryland Common Core Standards and multiple mathematics resources.

Pre-Kindergarten

Our pre-kindergarten classrooms use the award-winning InvestiGator Club Pre-K Curriculum. This Maryland approved curriculum is aligned with the Maryland Common Core State Curriculum Framework. It is organized into ten critical domains of learning: language development, literacy, mathematics, science, creative arts, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, physical health and development, social studies, and technology. The InvestiGator Club Pre-K Curriculum also includes a Christian curriculum, Investigate God’s World, which includes 32 weeks of instruction using 100 Bible stories, 100 Bible songs, and faith-based activities. During our morning devotions, the children will also be hearing the Bible read in sequence from The Preschoolers’ Bible by Beers.
